The Multi-Annual Innovation and Knowledge Compass is the outcome of the ‘Nederland Ondernemend Innovatieland’ government programme. The MIKK is a tool for making strategic and thematic choices in the areas of knowledge and innovation in the Netherlands. To that end, this website contains a vast amount of information on social issues, knowledge themes and innovation themes to which the Netherlands and the European Union are committed. The site also demonstrates how these three dimensions are interconnected. Moreover, a factsheet is provided for each theme, containing an outline of the issue, relevant domestic or European (subsidy) programmes and data that indicate the extent to which the Netherlands excels in that discipline from an economic and/or scientific perspective.
