Innovation Platform
The mission of the Innovation Platform is to advance the innovative capacity of the Netherlands in such a way as to position it as the leader of the international knowledge-based economy. This implies that the Netherlands needs to become a nation in which there is ample room for excellence, ambition and entrepreneurship to be demonstrated by both people and organisations.
The Innovation Platform aims to establish a competitive edge by means of extending strong positions that enable global excellence. The key area approach demonstrates that it pays to stimulate the economically strong positions in our country and challenge them to become even more forceful. This requires room for companies to operate and a higher level of knowledge utilisation. Improvement, modernisation and innovation thrive in an environment that provides room for excellence, creativity and risks. Our aim is to deal with obstacles, whatever their nature. A solid foundation is the fuel on which the Dutch innovation engine runs, and the building blocks of that foundation are focus, initiative, action and decisiveness.
Stichting Innovatie Alliantie (SIA)
The SIA (Innovation Alliance Foundation) aims to promote knowledge circulation, in particular between academies, SMEs and public institutions. Its objective is to increase the innovative capacity of the SME and public sector. One of the means by which to achieve this is the RAAK subsidy scheme.
Entrepreneurs from the SME sector often have ideas for new products or applications. Professionals from the public sector search for solutions for hindrances they encounter in their daily activities. They themselves do not always have the knowledge or time to find solutions. Cooperation with colleges and universities provides access to relevant knowledge and potential partners. They in turn acquire more insight into developments taking place in the business community and the public sector. RAAK projects provide concrete arrangements for all these issues. SIA was established by MKB-Nederland, VNO-NCW, HBO-raad, TNO, Novay and Syntens.
